A Power Take-Off shaft (PTO shaft) is a mechanical device utilized to transmit power from a tractor or other power source to an attached implement, such as a mower, tiller, or baler. In farming, the most common way to transmit power from a tractor to an implement is by a driveline, connected to the PTO (Power Take Off) of the tractor to the IIC(Implement Input Connection). Drivelines are also commonly connected to shafts within the implement to transmit power to various mechanisms.
