Six Spline Profile Families, Hundreds of Variants
This page is the complete index of every splined shaft we manufacture. Each profile family is broken down into specific variants by standard, geometry and application, with direct links to the product pages where you will find dimensional data, fit-class options and request-a-quote forms.
If you already know which profile you need, use the quick-jump buttons below to skip directly to that category. If you are still working out what suits your application, our company background page explains the engineering approach we take to specification, and our application engineering team is always available to walk through the trade-offs with you.
Every variant listed below is machined in our own facility, inspected on calibrated CMM and gear-analyser equipment, and supplied with full material traceability documentation as standard.
The most widely specified spline profile in modern drivetrains. Curved involute tooth flanks distribute load across multiple teeth and provide self-centring action under high torque.

Involute Splined Shafts by Standard
Curved involute flanks at 30°, 37.5° or 45° pressure angles. Used in automotive transmissions, gearbox input and output shafts, aerospace actuators, and any drive where smooth, high-torque transfer matters.
Rectangular tooth profile with flanks parallel to the shaft axis. Cost-efficient, high-torque solution for machine tools, agricultural drives and PTO applications.
Parallel Splined Shafts by Standard & Series
Square, rectangular tooth geometry that is simple to manufacture and excellent at carrying torque through large contact area. Best suited where centring is achieved through diameter fit rather than the spline flanks.
Triangular tooth flanks at 45°, 60° or 90° angles. High tooth count delivers self-centring fit ideal for fine angular adjustment and instrument-grade applications.
Serrated Spline Variants by Flank Angle
V-shaped teeth with angled flanks that automatically centre the shaft within the mating hub. Excellent for assemblies needing tight angular positioning combined with anti-rotation.
Helical Spline Variants by Hand & Geometry
Helix angle introduces axial thrust during torque transmission, smoothing engagement and reducing noise. Particularly effective in high-speed transmission systems and reversing-load drives.

Ball Spline Variants by Configuration
Hardened steel balls run in precision-ground grooves on both shaft and outer sleeve, transmitting torque while allowing low-friction axial movement. Critical to applications combining rotation with linear travel.
Two-piece sliding assemblies that compensate for axial movement while maintaining torque transfer. Standard fit for PTO drivelines, articulated rigs and conveyor extensions.
Telescopic Spline Variants by Application
Mating internal and external splines slide axially under torque, absorbing chassis flex, thermal expansion and articulation movement. Available with sealed boots, lubrication ports and corrosion protection.

Every product variant above is available across all major international spline standards. Tooling change-over is built into our process — we do not force the design to suit our shop floor.
German DIN Splines
Module-based involute and rectangular geometry, 30° pressure angle. Fully covered for diameters 8 to 320 mm.
American ANSI Splines
Pitch-based involute splines used in mining and agricultural equipment imported to Australia from North America.
ISO Splines
International standard covering both straight-sided and involute profiles. Common for Australian Defence work.
Side-fit and major-diameter-fit involute splines for commercial vehicle drivelines and PTO interfaces.
JIS Splines
Japanese specification supporting fleets of imported industrial equipment from Komatsu, Hitachi and Kubota platforms.
Chinese GB Splines
Reference data for matching legacy plant equipment where original drawings are no longer available.
Talk to an Engineer Before Committing to a Specification
Choosing the wrong spline profile is one of the most common — and most expensive — mistakes in drivetrain design. Our application engineers can review your duty cycle, environment and load characteristics to recommend a configuration that survives the application rather than just meeting it on paper.
- Send us the operating torque, speed and reversal cycles
- Describe the environment: temperature, contamination, lubrication regime
- Share the failure history of any existing component being replaced
- Tell us the surrounding hub, gear or coupling fit class
- Indicate quantity, prototype or production, and inspection level required
Available Across Every Product Variant
Each catalogue item can be machined from the steel grade that best matches your duty cycle. Our metallurgists will recommend the right combination as part of your enquiry.
